Brandkey and CCA host webinar on advertising & communication for minors

Events

The brand activation agency Brandkey and CCA organized, on June the 1st (Children's Day), from 12 pm to 1 pm, the WebSeminar “Kids & Tweens | Law & Brands” on the new Advertising Law aimed at minors.

Since October 2019, Portuguese law has restricted advertising to minors under the age of 16, regarding foodstuffs and beverages that contain high energy value, salt, sugar, saturated fatty acids, and processed fatty acids. The new Law also places restrictions on the means and channels through which messages are transmitted - television, radio, websites, social networks, the press, mobile applications, events. But there are still many doubts.

The purpose of this Webseminar was to clarify brands and advertisers about what has changed with the new Law and to launch a debate on its impact on the activities and businesses of these stakeholders.

The following speakers were present to discuss this topic:

  • Alberto Rui, CEO of IPG Mediabrands;
  • Ana Catarina Fonseca, director of the DGC - (Directorate-General for Consumption);
  • Fernando Chaves, pediatrician;
  • Mafalda Lufinha, Digital Manager at Brandkey;
  • Manuela Botelho, Secretary general of APAN;
  • Miguel Raposo Magalhães, Commercial Director of NOS Publicidade;
  • Sofia Barros, Secretary General of APAP.

This debate was moderated by Filipe Mayer, Partner responsible for the Advertising area at CCA and Leonor Archer, Director of the children's marketing department at Brandkey.
