Carolina Hecker explains the rules on paid leave for part-time employees

News

Part-time employees are entitled to the same rights as full-time employees, which means that part-time employees are entitled to 22 days of leave. In an opinion article for RH Magazine, Carolina Hecker, Associate at CCA Law Firm’s Labour department, explains some of the concepts applicable to part-time work, in order to determine the scheduling of leave.

“What the law doesn't seem to clarify, and therefore creates some uncertainty, is precisely the cases in which this is not the case, i.e. situations in which the employee only works a few days a week, which could happen under part-time work” the lawyer points out.
