Isabel Franco Caiado explains the lean-startups concept

News

Isabel Franco Caiado, Associate of the CCA Law Firm’s Technology, Media and Communications Department, writes an opinion piece for the IT Channel magazine, explaining the lean methodology that has been gaining ground in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. This concept, proposed by the North-American author Eric Ries, aims at adopting “lean” development strategies to lower risk levels in business launch and achieve greater efficiency "rather than dreaming of the perfect beta version of a killer product, we now aim at a minimum viable product (MVP), to be launched in the market, and from there, to get customer feedback, to learn, to modify it successively, and to grow it. If necessary, even pivoting", emphasizes the lawyer.

"The lean methodology allows for the rapid evolution of successful startups, however, as is well known, the pace of regulation is slower. Therefore, so that one step forward is not five steps backward, and to avoid future business discomfort with clients and investors, the analysis of the minimum legal viability of lean startups is essential for minimizing pivoting needs and resources waste, thus ensuring that the soft launch of products is the best way to build the reputation of the startup", declares Isabel Franco Caiado.
