José Limón Cavaco analyses new financial risks and the role of financial lines of insurance

News

The evolution of the economy, technology, and regulation has been generating a multitude of new risks for companies and managers, requiring a more robust response from the insurance sector.

In an article for ECO, José Limón Cavaco, Partner in the Insurance and Reinsurance practice at CCA Law Firm, explains that so‑called financial lines — such as directors and officers liability insurance (D&O), professional indemnity (PI), cyber risk (Cyber), or economic crime insurance (Crime) — now play a central role in protecting organisations against risks of a financial nature.

“Only with the protection provided by financial lines insurance can managers act with confidence and make the decisions necessary for business growth and success, without the constant concern over the financial repercussions for their own assets and those of the company,” highlights José Limón Cavaco.

These topics were also discussed at the event ‘Seguros em Rede: Financial Lines – New Risks’, promoted by CCA Law Firm on 25 September, which brought together industry professionals to reflect on new risk dynamics and innovation.
