Madalena Azeredo Perdigão explains what changes in the Basic Housing Law

News

Madalena Azeredo Perdigão, Coordinator of the Real Estate Department of CCA Law Firm, wrote an opinion piece for ECO-Advocatus on what changes with the entry into force of the Basic Housing Law, which took place last October 1st, whereby general principles are defined in addition to a programmatic framework guiding the action of the government as regards housing.

"Basically, there is no doubt that it is fundamental to have a Basic Housing Law that defines, in general terms, the strategy of the policies that should be adopted in the Housing sector; although it can be argued whether or not the principles contained therein are sufficient for the answers currently sought. Nevertheless, the biggest challenge undoubtedly lies in defining the regulatory mechanisms and achieving the goals set for the change of this housing market", says Madalena Azeredo Perdigão.
