Tito Rendas Explains What Trade Secrets Are

Tito Rendas, Consultant in the CCA's Technology, Media and Telecommunications Department, writes an opinion piece for IT Channel magazine on trade secrets as tools for managing and promoting business competitiveness. Like any secret, the trade secret is information that, to be legally protected, does not have to belong to any specific category and can thus cover intangible assets as varied as client lists, algorithms, production methods, market studies, sales strategies, financial data, product release dates, as well as other seemingly insignificant assets.

"(...) what companies should not ignore is that secrecy is an effective and affordable alternative to protect the results of their innovation efforts",  underlines the Consultant.
