He began his career as a trainee lawyer, gaining exposure to several areas of law, which enabled him to develop a broad and cross-disciplinary perspective on legal practice. He is currently in the final stage of his traineeship, focusing on Litigation, and is involved in both civil and criminal proceedings.
Afonso has been supporting teams in the preparation of procedural documents, the analysis of evidence and the monitoring of procedural steps, taking part in cases with distinct specificities and a range of technical challenges.

He began his professional career in 2024, joining CCA as a junior associate while still in his traineeship.
In July 2017, Afonso completed a summer internship at a centre specialising in insurance mediation and arbitration, where he first came into contact with alternative dispute resolution matters. In 2022, he gained his first experience within a law firm through a summer internship at one of the most prominent Portuguese law firms.
