The judgment of the appeals against fines of 225 million euros imposed by the regulator on 12 banks for exchanging information having an impact on customer credit, began with the target banks insisting on the nullity of the evidence. In the introductory presentations which marked the beginning of the judgment of the appeals filed by 10 banks, the Competition Authority (AdC) reaffirmed the terms of the administrative sentence, which accepted as proven the exchange of sensitive information between the interested parties for more than 10 years, relating to the prices to be practiced in matters of mortgage, consumption and business loans. In declarations to Expresso, Henrique Salinas, CCA Partner and head of the Criminal Law & Compliance area, comments on the offense in question.

"(...) in this type of offense, the behaviour is sufficient in itself, not implying the existence of a result", underlines Henrique Salinas.
