The accelerated integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into business processes is transforming not only business models but also the legal framework of organizations. In an article published in IT Insight, Martim Bouza Serrano, Partner in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice at CCA Law Firm, highlights that “the most common mistake continues to be companies’ lack of anticipation and preparation for constant legislative changes”, pointing to the need for a strategic and preventive approach.
According to the lawyer, the tendency to view regulation “as a set of bureaucratic requirements” poses a serious risk, since legal changes are keeping pace with technological evolution at an unprecedented speed. “We are witnessing an in‑depth review of technology contracts, particularly clauses relating to liability, confidentiality, data ownership, and generated outputs,” Martim Bouza Serrano emphasizes.
These changes require greater rigor from companies in defining processes and managing risks, ensuring compliance and transparency in a context in which AI is becoming increasingly central to competitiveness.
