'If there's a public interest, if the news is true, if it is given adequately, even if the crime of disobedience is in sight, the agent (journalist/newspaper) may still not be punished', says Martim Menezes. The lawyer also adds that 'this situation arises because the correct exercise of freedom of the press can exclude the alleged illegality of this conduct'.
