In the course of the discussions towards the approval of the National State Budget (“Orçamento do Estado”) for 2020, the Socialist Party (“PS”) has submitted a proposal that aims to introduce some relevant changes to the current Non-Habitual Residence (NHR) Regime.
The foreign pensions (Category H) are exempt from taxes according to the current regime. In accordance with the PS proposal, they shall be subject to a 10% special rate on the net amount.
