Esports continue to establish themselves as one of the fastest-growing sectors of the digital economy and entertainment industry, making the need for an appropriate legal framework increasingly evident.
In an article published in ECO, Filipe Mayer, Partner in the TMT practice at CCA Law Firm, analyses the proposed "Esports Law" and reflects on the key legal challenges associated with recognising and regulating esports in Portugal.
In this context, he notes that “The proposal finally places esports on the legislative agenda in a serious, prudent and legally meaningful way.”
