Henrique Salinas talks about the Whistleblower Protection Regime

News

The Whistleblower Law, transposed into the national legal system on December 20th (Law 93/2021), provides protection for those who report or publicly disclose breaches of EU law, companies with more than 50 employees being required to create internal reporting channels that ensure the conditions of secrecy, confidentiality and security for the whistleblower. Henrique Salinas, CCA's Partner and Head of the Criminal Law & Compliance Area, participates in the next "Falar Direito" on JE TV and analyses the whistleblower protection regime, which will come into force on June 18th .

"This legal framework aims to encourage the presentation of complaints and to establish rules so that the protection of whistleblowers can take place, through a three-level scheme: internal, external and public complaint. It aims to protect the whistleblower and to regulate and discipline the terms in which the complaint must be presented", explains the CCA Partner.

In September, CCA launches "SafeChannel", a platform-based service that enables the handling of complaints in an impartial, independent and transparent manner, to help companies comply with the directive approved by the European Union in 2019.
