Jorge Machado explains how CCA chooses its LegalTech suppliers

News

With the arrival of the pandemic in Portugal, digital transformation in law firms has been greatly boosted and emerging technological advantages were used to streamline legal work. Speaking to Jornal Económico, Jorge Machado, Managing Director of CCA, explains what CCA's strategy is when choosing the best LegalTech.

"Internally, when it comes to choosing Information Technology (IT) suppliers and solutions, we try to answer a series of questions: What is the expected return? What investment is needed to implement it? Does it allow, for the medium and long term, to achieve the goals we set ourselves? Does the solution meet our needs and solves any current problem or constraint?", stresses Jorge Machado.

Currently, CCA is working with two technological partners - Roox and Intapp - which have acted as its digitization accelerators, and the last solution adopted was a customised management system (ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning). For CCA’s Managing Director, «centralizing this digital transformation process in a partner (IT supplier) is strategic because it makes it possible to efficiently manage the integrations between the different IT systems, to avoid the involvement of different teams and possible coordination problems and, thus, to take fewer risks during integrations and updates".
